I am looking for a book by Randy Leffingwell about orphan tractors. I can't remember the title. This book has a two-page picture of my father's Shepard Diesel in it.

His name is Raymond Errett, from Harlan, Iowa. He died very unexpectedly on Saturday. His book was loaned out to someone, and we don't know who. I would like to get a copy of the book for myself and for my nephew.

Can anyone tell me the name of the book and where I might order it? Thank you very much.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I think this is the book you are looking for.

This is a Shepard Diesel that was owned by Ray & Dorothy Errett.
The cover of the book looks like this.
The index of this book shows a 3 page write up on there tractor.

Thank you for the book information. Yes, that is just what I was looking for. On the funeral "program", we put a picture of my dad with his Shepard.

Candy,
I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I saw a photo of a Shepard Diesel in a book at Barnes and Noble yesterday. I don't remember if it was a two-page spread or not. I believe it was in 'Legendary Farm Tractors', which I have tried to link at the bottom for you. Their website, bn.com, also lists 'Orphan Tractors' and 'More Orphan Tractors', of which only the latter appears to still be in print, though bn.com says it has links to used copies for sale. If you type 'orphan tractor' into the search bar at bn.com those will both come up.

Best of luck in your search,
Darren

Sorry to hear about your father. I am familiar with Randy Leffingwell, but only vaguely familiar with his orphan tractors book. Have you tried doing a google search? I will look through some of my magazines and see what I can find.
