Trying to pull wet sleeves on a Case LA to replace the seals at the bottom. Have puller in place and very tight. Won't budge. Should I apply heat and put a hydraulic jack under the bottom. I really don't won't to damage the sleeves. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks, Richard

If all else fails.Seal off the bottom of the sleeve liquid tight. Fill the sleeve with dry ice mixed with methyl alcohol. The -120F will shrink the sleeve but leave the cast brittle so don't hammer it until warmed back up. The sleeve will shrink so much it will break loose and come out easier even when warmed back up.

A hydraulic jack shold work in conjunction with your puller. My experiance is only with cat and cummins diesels. Good luck
