Hi there. I have a gentleman interested in buying a F30 that has been sitting in our machine shed for about 40 years. Its under a corn picker and the engine is froze. What should a guy ask as far as money for it? We were offered $1000 once but my dad wasn't ready to sell it (dreams of fixing it up himself and driving it in parades) and he felt that was too much anyway. I aould appreciate any thoughts on this. Thanks!!

I wouldn't want to pay a lot for an F 30, but they are rare. In our area it would probably bring around $1500 as you described.

It depends on the year and condition. I would think that with the picker and if the picker is straight $1,000 is not unreasonable. Extra for fast tranny. Check behind the carb. If the block is not cracked that is a big plus. Most 30s crack there sometime or anouther. 31 - early 34 models with the old steering are worth more. Narrow tread and High altitude models are worth more too. Cobeled welding on various parts to "make her fit" are a big minus as there were relatively few F-30s made to gather parts from. How stuck? was it driven into the shed or pulled in sideways? Factory rubber is a plus, Steel wheels are also worth some. Cutdowns are generally the least desireable. If mine ...$1,000 to $2,500 depending on what it has for positive options. Less that $1,000 with cracked block, cutoffs and cobled welds and torch work. $250 for parts and scrap.

Personally I would not want to pay anymore than $500 and then only if I really just had to have it. Just my opinion.
