Just do a search for "1912 Samson". There is a nice picture of probably the only working one in the world in a parade. Manufactured by the Samson Tractor Co of Stockton, CA. Samson was subsequently purchased by General Motors and merged with Janesville Machine Co in about 1919. Production of tractors was moved to the Janesville plant and ended in 1921. I think the Model M Samson is the most familiar model. They couldn't compete with Fordson and the Janesville plant was converted to a Chevrolet production facility in about 1923.

The question I would have is..... .....

If this guy has a samson that..... . Is one of three know to exist.
Is 100% complete and in running condition.
Considers it as one of the family.
Worth 26,000 to 30,000 $.

Why is he storing it under a old blue tarp.

Think if I could not afford a garage to keep it in I would at least put in in a mini storage unit for safe keeping.

I DID NOT THINK I WAS FORSALE BECAUSE THE OLD GUY MADE THE STATEMENT THAT WHEN THEY MOVED HERE FROM CA. HE TOLD HIS WIFE THAT NOTHING GETS LOADED OR MOVED UNTIL AFTER THE OLD TRACTOR IS LOADED . THAT TELLS ME IT IS PART OF THE FAMILY. IAM COING TO WALK DOWM THEIR IN THE MORNING TO GET SOME PIC'S AND SEE IF I CAN GET HIM TO START IT . NEAVER PLAYED WITHA SINGLE CYLINDER . WOULD LIKE TO LEARN ALL I CAN ABOUT IT .MY BOOK SAYS ONLY THREE SPECIMENS KNOWN TO EXIST.IT HAS THEM LISTED BETWEEN 26,000-30,000. IF IT WERE FORSALE I WOULD HAVE TO SELL THE TRUCK ,CAR, DOG,3 OR 4 TRACTORS ECT . THE WIFE LAND AND HOUSE ARE KEEPERS.
