Looking for views and opinions about the best brand gooseneck trailer. I have looked and priced till i'm ready to go crazy. At this point I think I'm going for a Corn pro 20+5 14k.

Just bought a Corn Pro 20+5 14K. I got the "self cleaning" dove tail and the extra spring loaded ramp. Out the door was around $5800. I found some cheaper ones at www.appalachiantrailers.com but decided to buy local instead. It took 3 weeks to come in and I am satisfied. I will be adding a undermount toolbox and a bracket for my winch in the next couple of weeks. It hauls fine and should serve me well for years to come. Now, if only I could find a building to keep it under cover... Good luck with your purchase!

I don't know exactly what the price is now, but 16 mos agp I bought a 20+5 14,000 lb PJ trailer. It has locking toolbox, three spring assist ramps, and dual front jacks. Has radial tires on it. I paid $3900 for it. I know steel prices have gone up , so they may be more. I am very happy with mine. When I haul hay, I put 12 round bales on it, no problems. I will buy PJ again. I know Felling builds a nice trailer, but when I paid $3900 for this PJ, Felling wanted over $10,000 for the same trailer with the same options. Way to much price difference for me.

Hi OP,

June 1st, I bought a Ledgen Trailer, 27+5, Dexter 10k dual tandum oil bath with 10ply Coopers, 12" #19 I-beam with 3" channel on 16", 6" torque tube, all rubber mounted lites, BullDog GN, $6400 out the door.

Being a welding freak that I am, the man has hired some very good weldors that know what there doing. I only see two gussets that I want to add on the GN frame. They missed access to a Zerk on the BullDog landing gear that requires drilling one hole. The spring assist loading ramps are well made.

Other than those minor flaws, I'm very happy for a store bought trailer. The trailer pulls extremely well without rocking surge while empty or loaded. That made my 3k mile trip easy on my back.

Most all of the trailer mfg that I talked too were custom order running about 2wk's out. Very few had any stock on hand and the ones that did were considerable higher priced. Delivery was about $600 average.

I have 3 trailers and the brand is important locally. What is a top seller here in MN may not even be available. What is your top weight going to be? In MN under 12,000 is a lifetime license. Over and you have annual license. Check the brakes if they are on one or two axle's. What type tiedown points are available for you to anchor your load. Get at least 10 ply tires and like the man said, radials. Then you can compare prices on those points. I have a PJ out of Texas and it is ok but would have been happier with a Felling. Oh, I use a 5th wheel instead of a gooseneck but same criteria applys. Good luck..

Bob, I bought my 30" Felling from a guy in Grand Forks, ND before I retired from the AF. Looked at PJ"s and several others while down in AR and TX. The Felling beat them all for brawn. Triple axle, 25,000 gross. Love it.

Ohio you may be happier if you buy a neck with dual tires instead of single tires , IMO they handle better and you can keep more load on trailer instead of truck.

Whatever suits your needs will be fine if it is made by a reputable manufacturer. There is one thing I will suggest though! Have Radial tires installed. They won"t overheat on the interstates.

Yep, that sounds ok on price if you don't haul over 10,000 lbs.
