i was out cruising along letting the grass fly with the ole disc mower and wham! i didn't even have time to blink, 766 sunk like a load of bricks. good thing i was only a 3/4 mile from home so i walked back and got the wife and 706. then things got worse. i managed to sink it even farther and maggie done got the 706 sunk! after some handy work with the loader we were on our way home again with the 706. had to break down and call the good neighbor to bring the 4450MFD down to help. all i can say is those 23' deep treads sure dig fast! now i just gotta get that tile fixed.

I spent $5600 on new drain tile this spring to keep that sort of thing from happening too often. What a pain. Biggest one we had was over 6' deep and 8-10' across. That got my attention when I was mowing.

What were you mowing, looks like rows of something with black plastic mulch between rows?

Casey, that brings two things to mind. 1. That's about a 7 on the pucker scale.
2. Anybody that thinks a wide front end will keep a tractor from tipping just needs to look at your second picture. The tractor is tipped WAY over, and the front end is sitting level on the ground. They give you a psychological feeling of stability, but they darn sure will tip. Glad you got them out. Harley

Mid seventies...had a one ton Jeep truck parked in yard. Had to mount a tank and pump on it for the fire dept. Started before daylight and as I pulled out of the yard felt rear wheel run over something. Figured I just got one of the kids toys. Put the truck where I wanted it and went back to see....couldn"t see what it was, still dark and when I squatted down to have a better look...it was a hole and looked dark down in there. Started getting away from it and it started caving in....kinda left me big eyed. Later was able to peer into it from a safer distance...it went down about ten feet to a 36" storm drain. If I had fallen in...I couldn"t have gotten out without help. Big city project...had bulldozer and backhoe in the yard. They had to dig up about a hundred feet and the area was full of old glass bottles from a dump closed in the thirties. I still have a brown coke bottle from it to remind me of how lucky I was. Wow looks like fun!!!

Last spring I mowed the lawn. Big mistake lol!! Found a hole in front of the house. About the size of a 5 gal bucket. Finished mowing and figured I fill it after. Got to thinking as to where the hole was. Probed it before filling. Had resistance for about a foot and then heard stuff falling into water. 3 weeks later I had a brand spanking new septic tank complete with a new leach field to update from the 1965 house remodel.

Yard still looks like a gopher dug it up. Guess I'll have to do something about that this fall. Fortunatly I can still claim bachelor previlage LOL.
