hey guys news on that 16.5 hp motor I said forget it. it wont start so I used the parts from it to fix my 15.5 platinum series Briggs and I got it to run so the other day I went out to start it and the flywheel broke? I have no clue why it chipped a big chunk out of the art where the flywheel key goes so I had the flywheel from the 16.5 and put that on it kicked over then staled so I tried again and then that one broke too. same place as the first one. the only thing I can think that the problem might be is I make my own keys out of the rim key and it takes a little effort to get it on but I don't so I figured id ask. if anyone can tell me what the problem is thanks for the help. another thing my wires are all corroded and they don't transfer the electricity well so I run wires straight from the battery to the starter could it be that its getting too much power out of the starter?

thanks for your time mike

The key is too thick and you are wedging it. Find another flywheel and buy the proper, soft, key.
