Hello,
I purchased a gas 3010 (~1900 hrs). I"m having problems with hydraulic leaks coming from several places. 1)PTO shaft(s). Oil leaks out the rear pto shaft, but also appears to have another shaft coming out under the tractor (appears to be the same shaft going straight through - belly) that is leaking bad. I put a screw in the tapped end of the shaft (belly side), but it only slowed up the leak there. 2)It has 3 remotes (6 total) are leaking bad 3)at the front of the tractor it leaks more hydraulic fliud onto the front wheels!!! Ahh.. I got rid of my headache 2010.. hope this isn"t another one!!! Requesting help from all you Deere experts out there... I"m feeling like i"m ready to turn RED!!!

Thanks guys for the info.. I just wonder what the exposed shaft under the "belly" is and what is leaking (appears to come from the threaded center of that shaft). Do you routinely have to take everyting apart to change a seal or can you pry them out and push the new one on w/out taking the shaft out or the case off? Remotes sound easy as Mike M. said... just do away w/them.

That tractor is only 40 ++ years old wouldn't know why the seals would be worn out yet ?? LOL
Nothing a little time and money can't cure. Our 4020 had some extra remote couplers running out to the front we just removed them as we will never use them.

Morning Mark; Sounds like your problems are minor at this point.Last winter I rebuilt the leaky remotes on my 3010.The winter before,I replaced the rear pto shaft seal.A little time,a little patience,a service manual,[I never leave home without mine]and your right in business.that 3010 you've got now is waaaaayyy better than what you had in that 2010. Kenny

Patience my friend ,Patience. We can walk you right through those seal replacements Its no big deal so long as the load control shaft isn't leaking. That is the shaft that goes through the wishbone casting the drawbar is attached to.A special driver is needed to install those two seals, however. The others you mentioned, ordinary tools are all you will need. You took a giant step going from a 2010 to a 3010.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. What is a load shaft though? The shaft that leaks the most appears (under the belly of the tractor) to have capability to run a belly mounted sickle bar or something. Its splined and has a threaded hole on the end. I put a bolt in the end (appeared to have oil coming out the hole, but might just be the seal around the shaft itself... do the 3010"s always leak? It"s @ my cabin.. I"m heading up this weekend to get a better idea.

sounds like you need to get a service manual and invest in some new seals and O-rings , before takling this job make sure no special tools are needed that only the dealer has.
