Hi, My D19 is not charging again. It stopped charging last spring. It stopped charging one day when I was blading snow. I shut if off and went inside and an hour later went out to finish the job. It wasn't charging when I started it back up, but 15 minutes later it was charging again. It seemed like it would only charge when it wanted to. Then a couple of weeks later, it stopped charging altogether.I went and bought a new voltage regulator and installed it. after polarizing it, I started up the tractor and it wouldn't charge. I took the (new) voltage regulator and the generator to John Deere and had it tested. They said the voltage regulater was bad. I got a new one and installed it. I polarized it and started it up. It was finally charging! I put it in the shed (this was last week.) Today, when I went to move bales, I got it out, and it was charging fine. I pulled up to the bales and glanced down and the ammeter and the darn thing showed a slight discharge. I then drove it over the the shop and on the way there, it started charging again. I tested the voltage at the battery with a multimeter and if I remember right the voltage was about 13v. I shut it off and turned it back on. It didn't charge after that. Running, the voltage at the batter is 11.9-12.04v . Voltage on the "A" terminal or Gen terminal on the voltage regulator said about .5 v. What is it supposed to be? Does that mean it is charging a little, tiny bit? Does the regulator need adjusting? I know I polarized the regulator and generator when I installed them, and it was charging after that. All the terminals have been clean and the connections are good. I'm out ideas. Does anyone else have any? Thanks in advance.
