I pull a dual whell 16ft. trailer and any time I put 3000 lb. on the trailer it pulls the truck down in back how is the best way to make the truck handle a load like this ,air shocks, overload shocks,or spring helpers ? What would you do ?

Get a gooseneck trailer. Or probably the simpliest and cheapest would be torsion bars for the hitch.

Like the others said, balance the weight on the trailer axles, slighly ahead of them. Some hitches will hold 500 lbs tongue weight, maybe more. But I've always shot not to excede 350 lbs myself, and that's slightly on the heavy side. Tongue weight is to keep the trailer safely down on the hitch, no more than that. Your pickup may be rated at a 1 ton dually, but that doesn't mean it has to carry it. Let them trailer axles and bearings work the load for you and your pickup, not the other way around. You and your truck do the steering and lead the brakes, otherwise you're both working to hard.

Ever thought about a weight distributing hitch? For some reason (I don't understand the physics of it), it levels the rear of the tow vehicle.

I have a reese WDH on it really helps when I load my trailer to 5K of grapes. The 1/2 dodge ramcharger never has over 600 pounds on the hitch with this setup.

Shocks are for controling the bounce of the springs. Not really going to help keep the vehicle up to ride height.
Put your money where the problem is 'springs'
I would put new springs on that are rated for your application to get the ride height up to where it is to be. Putting helpers would be my 2nd option

air bags with a onbord compressor work the best blow them up to match your load. Then when you are empty you can let the air out to still have the same ride you have now. You can get them at a camper or auto parts store.

My brother has the air bags with the on-board compressor. He has a 2000 GMC 2500HD. This setup works very well. I have been impressed with how well it handles the loads.

I have air bags on my F350 and it makes a big difference. I carry a large 12ft cab over camper plus the 16ft flat bed. I don't have the on- board compressor thou. I just air up with my shop compressor. This is my "Go To Tractor Show" rig. I carry my Case DC on the flat bed (about 6500lbs).

Never have bought anything but 3/4 ton myself but my dad has used overloads with some success. How far forward are to loading the trailer? You don't need all the weight on the tongue.
