Hi Guys,

I'm really wondering if this draught has finally broken. Haven't seen this much rain in this country since the early fifties.

Now, if they will just lift that dreaded drilling moratorium.

Yipee,

Allan

Got too much water over there? Send what you don't want to SE Aussie, ie QLD, NSW, VIC, TAS, and SA. We've been in drougt for nearly four years, although we just received about 1.75 inches over the last couple of days. Needless to say the tractors will be flat out getting the crops in the ground, canola - nearly too late, wheat oats, barley. Good luck.

I still remember the morning this drought started. The sun was shining and I was lying in the mud trying to hook a log chain on my dads car so I could haul them to the highway.
In Nebraska we are never more than one good rain away from a long drought. So Allen it is not the drought I'm afraid of, I'm just afraid it will stop raining.

I'm declaring it officially over in eastern Kansas! Nearly 10 inches in the last 3 weeks. Just west of us they got up to 15 inches in one night last week.

Why, someone oughta bottle this stuff, they would make a fortune!!!

Dad was from Kansas. He said one of his cousins bought a few xections one year and planted it to wheat. Had an exceptionly wet year so he planted wheat the following year instead of laying fallow and paid for the ground. Hope it works out that way for you.
He had an uncle who kept buying ground in Ok. ended up with over 100 sections, 3 towns, grain mills etc. All so that his wifes family could fight about it and cut his side of the family out(no kids). Dads side put up a fight and finaly dad got 1/4 share in 4 or 5 sections approx $180,000 if I remember right. Sure was a nasty fight by people who probably didn't give the old man the time of day.

I decided it was over several months ago. Only problem here where I live is "how do you tell" Average rainfall is about 12 inches. That includes the anual hail storm in July that gives about 3 or 4 inches of it.

Hard to cross just one finger... Getting a tad to much rain here. Things is getting a little bit soggy. This has been one strange spring weather wise.

Glad it is working out for you and the new place though!
