Hydraulic top link for 3-pt hay fork

I'm thinking about building a new 3-pt hay fork. My tractor is a Case 1070. The big ole lift arms reach up pretty high and I was thinking that with a hydraulic top link to extend and level the bale I could easily back up to my trailer and load bales from the sides of the trailer. (I have no FEL on this tractor.) Has anyone done this before? Any construction advice? I have looked on the net and saw pictures of elaborate fork lift type setups, but that is way more than I need for this type of job. I like simple stuff in the field. Can someone give me the specifics of what size and type of hydraulic cylinder to buy? Thanks in advance folks!

Any 2x8 0r 3x8 will work , but you will need to make a swivel so that the cylinder can swing with the hitch i have made several for friends buy using repair ball and scokets for a three point in cat.II buy welding them at 90 degrees from each othere and turning the cylinder as so the clevis is in the side ways posision . And we have also made rear fork lifts from old forklift masks and mounted them on the three point with the same set up and this worked real well for not a bunch of bucks and we could stack two high down both side of my gosseneck .

Did the forklift mast thing myself... Mighty handy. Turns any 3-point tractor into a forklift in seconds.

I just bought a "factory" hydraulic top link. $265 and frieght. It has a built-in check valve that prevents "drift" while not under pressure. That keeps it from moving while under a load. I bought it through "Sweet Farm Equipment" in Camner Kentucky. Do a websearch, and you'll find them. Contact Ken Sweet, and tell him John sent ya! (Then he'll charge you double.....) (It's a CAT II top link)
