Removed the dead battery from my JD 60 Tractor and I think that the positive (-) side of the tractor was connected to the ground. Can this be correct. Battery is a 12 volt and tractor is a JD60. Operators Manual does not have this information.

All 6V and 12V Deeres with generators were + ground. Now please don't kid us about the operator's manual not saying the 60 is +'ve ground. Call 1-800-522-7448 and order all three manuals.

Uncle Years ago most tractors and autos used Pos + grounds about the mid to late 50's they went to neg- ground.

even some tractors built in the 60's were POSITIVE ( +) ground...

so yes it is right but your post is confusing is it the - post or the +post that is grounded
