Here's one for all the hydraulic gurus out there. I,m having trouble getting the three point linkage [TPL} to "float" properly.According to the JD owners manual to get the TPL to float the rockshaft selector is placed in the minimum position and push the rockshaft control lever all the way forward.

As soon as I push the rockshaft selector to minimum the TPL raises to full height no matter which position the rockshaft control lever is in [ie raise or lower].

I can get the TPL to partially float by placing the rockshaft selector lever in the maximum position and placing rockshaft control lever in the forward [lower] position.

Having said that the rockshaft selector lever seems to be operating in a reverse mode. Anyone got any ideas on this?

your manual is right, of course.
the minimum you need is linkage adjustment: make sure your max-min arm on the rockshaft housing is doing it's full movement(stop to stop), if not- adjust. next put in min position and check valve neutral (if i remember well should be around 10 mm between raising and lowering on console. if adjustment needed write to me for a special description). next adjust turnbuckle (or rod on later models0 so that rockshaft lifts and lowers all the way.

Thanks David, I was beginning to think that I had everyone stumped. I will check out what you've said and let you know how I got along.
