My JD 332 starts fine and the engine runs fine. As soon as I move from neutral to either forward or reverse it stalls imediately. Also if I keep it in neutral and turn on the lawn cutting blades it stalls imediately. If I put it back into neutral it will start again, but stalls every time after I take it out of neutral. I refilled the gas tank (which was not empty) but this has not helped. Can anyone help me with what the problem may be?

Safety switch at the seat or parking brake lever.
Not familiar w/ a 332.

You have a safety switch not functioning. Probably the one under the seat. As a test, remove the plug from the switch, it can be jumped with a short piece of wire. If this cures it,replace the switch.Don't leave the wire connected when the tractor is not being used,it will kill the battery.

I have a 1987 model 332 that's had the seat switch bypassed for over 15 years and I have never had problems with draining the battery. I don't think that the safety switch sees current until the key is turned on.

Some of the later ones had wiring changes, running the safety switch circuit through a relay. Leaving the jumper in would keep the relay energized and kill the battery. Same thing as on the newer models,I guess the factory (legal department)caught on that everyone was bypassing the seat and reverse deck kill switches and figured out a way so you can't bypass without a complete rewire.
