I have no experience with this, but I understand you can put a cam from a 170 in and it will give a good increase in power. May have to make some other minor changes to do it. Maybe someone else knows. Even a D-17 had more power probably form more compression and cam changes. 170 more power than D-17, more compression and cam changes?

Propane engines are usually derated for power by 10% as compared to gasoline.

if you increse the compression you will get more power of of high octane gasoline. Is that your question?

You can just go find a WD45 engine to put in. Or you can go get a WD 45 crank and head, toss a WD45 carb and intake on it and BAM, you've got a WD45. The WD45 LP might have had higher compression ratio pistons, but a 1/8 over bore piston kit on a 45 crank is as good as anything. Better yet, I've got a set of used M&W pistons that I'd sell you.

Probably could. I don't understand the run on "run on gas only part." Do you mean vapor? You think that propane has more power. People I know that have them don't seem to think so. As it take more gallons than gasoline does. I have driven buses that were set up to run on either propane or gasoline. Did not seem to have the power when on propane as when they ran on gasoline.
