What tool do you find yourself using the most to repair or restore old tractors? The tool I use the most is a 6" wire wheel on an electric motor that is mounted to the work bench. It works good to clean up rusty bolts and small parts before painting.

5 lb. dead blow hammer with replaceable rubber "faces". If it doesn't fix anything, the sight of me wielding it keeps the wife, kids, and dog outta the shop.....

A pair of 4 inch Vise Grips. Great for grabbing stripped out screw heads and rounded-off bolts and nuts. Small enough to get almost anywhere.

John, I'd have to agree with that, or those same sizes in flat and sockets. Those are my most commonly used wrenchs.

I often find myself needing two of them at a time, and cant for the life of me find them when I need them,or they are in my way when I dont! OR even worse, my kids have gotten in to the toolbox and lost them, so when Isee a deal on those or any other tools I grab it up!

Something that I have that I don't use very much but are indespensable when needed -- gear pullers. Over the years, I have collected all sorts of pullers (probably 20 or so) from very small ones up to ones that will span 18". They include steering wheel puller, harmonic balancer puller, and even battery post terminal puller. I even made a special set of jaws to pull the brake drum on a Model T Ford transmission.
