Who is TISCO?

I see that a lot of the engine overhaul kits made today are manufactured by TISCO. I never heard of this company so I did a little search on them. The only thing I can come up with is Tata manufacturing company in Tata India. What the heck? Is this just domestic manufacturers outsourcing thier products or what? And how could a company in India end up making parts for old tractors?

They're good folks with a good product. We call them the J.C.Whitney of tractors at work.
Their main claim to fame with dealers is that they can sell parts that they don't represent.
i.e. a Deere dealer can get Ford parts or the other way around. They don't fool much with newer tractors, they tend to stay back about 10 years or so. I have been dealing with them since the early 80's and have always had very good luck with their product.

Tisco was also bought out by Woods (the same people who make the mowers, tillers, batwings, loaders, and other implements). Thats about all I know about the business. Their other parts seem to work ok, not sure about the overhaul kits.
