For these past two years I have been learning a lot about farming. My family bought a small acreage of about 21 acres out by Wahoo, Nebraska.
We have bought a couple of old farmall tractors and are curently restoring them. We also wanted to plant milo for the pheasants and some sweet corn just for fun with the john deere 1240 4 row planter we bought. Now I am only 15 and I started planting the sweet corn this weekend and I have never had so much fun. It was great to see the older equipment out in a field still working. I now understand how much work the farmers do all year round, and I have plenty of respect for all of them. Thanks

Does the old boy south of Yutan, and just east of Foxley's still have the JD 8020?

We are exactly 1 mile east of Malmo. There is a lake there on cottonwood creek.

Thanks

Good for you in reply to Cory A., 05-23-2005 12:49:17
Now you kind of know what we are about. What I want you to do (don't have to actually do it, just think about it). Is go raise the hood on the newest, biggest car or pickup you can find. A brand new super delux tractor will work also. Where is the air cleaner? where is the fuel filter? If it runs rough, can you see and understand the ignition and adjust the breaker points? No, you just call the guy and he replaces the computer. We grew up learning to do our owm mechanic work and injoyed every minute of it. Now that is a thing of the past so we find an old iron and tear it down and put it back together. Driving a new 120,000 dollar tractor to me, is about as much fun as just buying a ticket on an airliner. For fun go get a 2 seater and chase cyotes.
