Had to get a job in March, interrupting my "retirement". Haven't had time to stop in. Went to search down a 7 wire trailer plug wiring diagram today and my first hit is a question from Jim.UT on a trailering board.

Kinda neat to run into old "friends" that way. Reminded me I should stop in and say hi, so "Hi!"

Nice to see Allan is still Allan :)

At least I got to answer a question right away so I can feel like I contributed. Small repay for all the great advice I've gotten in here.

Trying to help my son get going with a business. Didn't buy 18 wheeler I talked about but did find a really nice 1970 Mack R700 10 wheeler. Dang it's expensive to get a business going!

Working sucks :) No time for my old tractors and I even missed spring planting with my nephew that I was really looking forward to.

God Bless everybody!

Trailering Board?? What , where trailering Board? My round baler rolled up the wire from monitor to tying mechanism & I've tried for 3 years to find that special T-like connector for the wire to connect ; it's an M&W 1500. For three years now my monitor has been a homemade rope pull! I know, I shouldn't have baled up my wire.

Glad you're checking in, Jim. I remember our comments about the trucking thing. Haven't seen the Mack, but unless someone worked it over for you (tore it up) it should give you lots of good service. Later, when things pick up, you can get a "pup" to drag behind it and double your payload. I prefer pups over end dumps as you can go so many more places and they are much safer.

In Texas we have a bridge law and if you want to haul 80,000 lbs you have to have a certain spacing between certain axles. A long tongue pup satisfies that. But if you don't have that kind of law, get a short tongue. You would be surprised how that little dude will follow you.

Hello Dave! I was really confused so I posted the same question here, on another tractor board I visit frequently and that RV board....almost word for word in all three places. I got real good help in all three place and I'm well on my way to having it done. All I need is some daylight hours all to myself!

The irony is that I should have just come here :)

I knew the 7 wires were pretty standard. I just didn't happen to have a diagram handy. 3 years ago I bought an Avalanche. First vehicle ever with a hitch and plug (7 wire) already on it. It came with a converter plug for flat 4, and I went to the Jayco dealer and bought their dealer made 7 wire to square 6 (a Jayco standard I understand). I was in trailer hookup heaven! Right connections all the time. No more replacing plugs cause they dragged on the ground :) Got a new trailer with my new skid steer in Dec. Plugged it right in! Wonderful!
Now I want to pull the skid steer with the old Mack and it's got a six wire with strange wires, so I had to track down the "official" document.

Put new plugs and wires on the 641 and no more miss. Running like a top. Don't need the loader much with the skid steer on hand now, and the bush hog I bought had the pto disconnected from the tractor it was on for a reason. Twisted a bit and absolutely stuck tight. So now that it's time to mow, gotta futz with that. Now my son's having all the fun with the toys and I'm commuting 60 miles one way to pay for it all :)
