my husband bought an old f-cub tractor and he can"t get any fire to the coil can anyone give us any ideas?

Whats these guys said and; as in all electrical troubleshooting start with a fully charged battery.

If it has a coil it better have a distributor :^)

Disconnect the low voltage wire coming out of the coil and see if there's any voltage going in. Then connect it (and make sure the points are open) and see if you have voltage on the other side. Then see what happens when the points close (should drop to near zero volts). Chances are there's a bad connection between the battery and points, or the points aren't making a good contact, or the condensor is bad.

Try changin the condenser and or points if you already havent.
