Anyone have any experience with BLUE OX? Sales guys says they are the best. Need to upgrade hitch due to camper trade up. Thanks in advance.

Added advantage now I can haul bigger tractors :)

Check out some of the RV forums for a lot of discussion on these devices. Generally the Hensley is usually considered best of the breed. Still just kind of a band-aid for an undersized tow vehicle.

Good Luck

Shep Sway is usually caused by not enough weight on the tow vehicle. You should have a minimum of 10% of the trailer weight on the ball. For gooseneck or fifth-wheel that the ball weight can be as high as 25%.
I have never had a problem with trailer sway following that rule. Have found that the jerking and hobby-horsing can be eliminated with a weight transfer hitch. This also allows more tongue weight.

Don"t we all want bigger and better. Can"t help you with the blue ox hitch but have a look at the Hensly Hitch. Expensive yes, sway no. They have an ad where the tow a 28-30 foot travel trailer with a Intrepid. Imagine what you can tow with a real tow vehicle and one of those hitches. I thought you had a fifth wheel travel trailer? why no 5th/goose equipment trailer? Roy

I been after a goose neck but don't have one now. Tried talking Mama into a 5th wheel trailer but she seen right thru me. She knew that kind of deal would mean a new truck for me :) One thing I did notice on the 5th wheels though is you nearly the entire p/u bed; I figured the bed could be additional storage but it would be kinda tight for bicycles (teenage sons).

Anywho, everything I have is hitch pull and since I am upgrading I thought I would get some anti-sway devices. I will check out Hensly and see what I can come up with.

Thanks!
