Just a quick question. Was taking a cable off a 12V battery on the tractor and the post broke, it is loose. Is the battery still usable or time for a trade in?

Don't chance it. If the post is loose from the plates it could spark internally and when it explodes you will have acid all over your body.
Speaking from experience. Lucky for me it was in a good battery box. Ed

It will probably still work. You will need to seal that post to the case though. Use silicone out of a tube. It's acid resistant.

T.A.,

You probably just broke the case and not the post/plate attachment.

It should still work as it always did, but you have to be careful and remember that the post isn't anchored anymore.

Still under warentee? I once got some use out of one by drilling small hole in stub and screwing in a metal screw with connector. Not good enough for a starter though.
