I went to Ft Benning with my wife when she was deployed.
I laided in the shade of a large Georga pine on a hill next to the 250 Towers. I watch kids run the track, I watched fear and excitment as they were strapped to the harness of the chute. I talked to them at the beer stand near by. Shoot the only differance between now and when I was one of them in 1966, is they sure look younger, as I supposed I looked to the WWII paratroopers.

I know that older generations may lack faith in us kids, but we're not all bad. It seems like the media and public in general want to concentrate on the negatives more then positives, but I feel that we'll be able to do a good job in the future. Not to be offensive, but previous generations haven't exactly been the greatest role models, or protected/monitored our natural resources. I have to say politicians play the major part in that though.

What? They have a beer stand now? I went through in Feb '65, and there was a sea of mud under the 250 towers, so we never had practice on them.

And may God bless each and every last one of them, so that folks like myself can enjoy the freedom of being here to read about them. I, like many did my time too, and thank them.
