Her treason is no different than that of the "journalists", "reporters", and media types of the present day, who are nothing but propagandists for the hard left and their continual, unending, and untrue anti-American, anti-Military, anti-moral, anti-Christian campaign to communize America.
These "journalists" and "reporters", and the orgainiztions they work for, must be held responsible for their treasonous and vile lies, inventions, distortions, and deceptions that they hold up as fact.

Yeahbut, whats it got to do with tractors?

Is this the sort of stuff you spout off about on a daily basis? Do you stand around talking with folks and then just add "I hate that Hanoi Jane"?

I understand being hurt and all and I agree what she did was pretty terrible but don't you have anything better to do with your time than chew over stuff that happened 30 years ago? People are starving and being killed and doing horrible stuff to each other right now. Maybe take your hate for her and turn it into something positive for a kid who's growing up into a lousy life or something.

And Bart--
Before I bid everyone a good evening, you say--"What's this got to do with tractors? Where's Kim?" Isn't this just a typical response? Don't like what you read so holler for help!!

You have freedom of speech, I have freedom of speech, we all have the right and ability to share posts on the YT forum and do you know why? Because people before us sacrificed a lot, sometimes even their lives, so that we could freely exchange ideas and conversation. And those same people even made it possible for Jane Fonda to say outrageous things and do outrageous deeds. You just don't get it, do you?

Bart-
Thank you for your service to our country and for your sacrifices. I will always repect you for that.
But I just don't understand how Jane Fonda's actions can be or should be forgiven or forgotten. Just as the actions of Zacharias Moussaoui should never be forgiven or forgotten. I don't mean that people need to dwell on these issues every day, but there should be some kind of reminder of their trachery that pops up occasionally.
Yes--I'm a conservative American and I believe in the Constitution and the principles it contains that have made us a great nation. But people like Jane (and others) have no regard for our country or Constitution.
Watched "Pearl Harbor" with my wife last night. I'm looking for a new pickup for us to use in retirement. After watching "Pearl Harbor," the Toyota Tundra got dropped from my short list. Sorry, but that's the way I am. My Dad was in a foxhole in North Africa when I was born and never saw me until I was 20 months old. Jane Fonda is an insult to him, too.
Never forget!
Bart-I do hope you have a good day.

Maybe it's got nothing to do with tractors but it's just one of those things that hits the news, causes some interest and people talk. Tractor people don't think about tractors all day long; most of us do pay attention to other things.

Based on your post, I would have to say that you either were too young to understand the whole situation with "Hanoi Jane" or else you don't want to understand it.

You folks who have this "WHATEVER" attitude about everything need to wake up.

Spitting in Jane Fonda`s face? Some people seem to have no manners or sense of consideration towards their fellow people. They seem to lose their moral judgement and rules of ethics that are set forth by their society. For that Jane Fonda well deserved to be spat upon by all of those who served that society. I won`t let it go!

The man knew what could happen, but to him it was worth it according to his statement in person on the evening news. I agree with you on both statements. They both should be held accountable for their actions. Kinda makes you feel we are teaching the young people of our nation that there is no accounting for our actions?

Let it go... in reply to doodelbug, 04-20-2005 20:28:09
Hey, doodel.

I realize that what she did was not only unpatriotic, it was downright treasonous: Our men in uniform -- who had already been subjected to conditions and treatment that she had never experienced in her privileged life -- were directly and negatively affected by her irresponsible actions. For many years I waited for her to apologize for what she had done, and I fumed over her refusal to do so.

But it's been over 30 years since that happened. Sometimes ya got to let things go. Like my grampaw used to say, "The only way ye kin keep somebody down is ta stay down there with 'em."

The way I figure it, sooner or later she'll have some serious explainin' to do to the Old Feller Upstairs. And if she makes it past Him (will she?), there are quite a few former residents of the Hanoi Hilton who will have some choice words for her.

I haven't forgiven, I haven't forgotten. I just don't see her on my radar screen any more, and that suits me just fine. I got bigger fish to fry.

I watched her at the national press club last week, where she vemently spat that the only thing she apologized for was sitting at and manning an AA battery...she was not apologizing for being there, or her reasons for being there....now that means to me that she is proud that she gave aid and comfort to the enemy..... let it go..like hell! The reason she is apologizing for manning the AA gun is that she can still be tried for taking up arms against her own country in a time of war...that my friend is treason any ***damned way you look at it.

I can't let it go... in reply to Navy veteran, 04-20-2005 23:37:02
Jane Fonda was recently honored as one of the “100 Women of the Century.” Unfortunately, many have forgotten – and still countless others have never known – how Ms. Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country but specific men who served, sacrificed and suffered during the Vietnam War.

Part of my conviction comes from personal exposure to those who suffered her attentions. The first part of this is from an F-4E pilot named Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat.

In 1978, the former Commandant of the USAF Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison – the “Hanoi Hilton.” Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell, cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJs, he was ordered to describe for a visiting American “Peace Activist” the “lenient and humane treatment” he’d received. He spat at Ms. Fonda, was clubbed, and dragged away.

During the subsequent beating, he fell forward upon the camp commandant’s feet, which sent that officer berserk. In ’78, this USAF colonel still suffered from double vision (which permanently ended his flying days) from the Vietnamese colonel’s frenzied application of a wooden baton.

From 1973-75, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the 47FW/DO (F-4Es). He spent 6 years in the “Hilton”– the first three of which he was listed as “missing in action.” His wife lived on faith that he was still alive.

His group, too, got the cleaned/fed/clothed routine in preparation for a “peace delegation” visit. They, however, had time and devised a plan to get word to the world that they still survived. Each man secreted a tiny piece of paper, with his SSN on it, in the palm of his hand. When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each man’s hand and asking little encouraging snippets like: “Aren’t you sorry you bombed babies?” and “Are you grateful for the humane treatment from your benevolent captors?”

Believing this HAD to be an act, they each palmed her their sliver of paper. She took them all without missing a beat. At the end of the line and once the camera stopped rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs, she turned to the officer in charge ... and handed him the little pile of papers! Three men died from the subsequent beatings. Col. Carrigan was almost number four but he survived, which is the only reason we know about her actions that day.

I was a civilian economic development advisor in Vietnam, and was captured by the North Vietnamese communists in South Vietnam in 1968, and held for over 5 years. I spent 27 months in solitary confinement, one year in a cage in Cambodia, and one year in a “black box” in Hanoi. My North Vietnamese captors deliberately poisoned and murdered a female missionary, a nurse in a leprosarium in Ban me Thuot, South Vietnam, whom I buried in the jungle near the Cambodian border.

At one point in my captivity, my weight had dropped to approximately 90 lbs. (My normal weight is 170 lbs.) We were Jane Fonda’s “war criminals.”

When Jane Fonda was in Hanoi, the camp’s communist political officer asked me if I would be willing to meet with Jane Fonda. I said yes, for I would like to tell her about the real treatment we POWs were receiving, which was far different from the treatment purported by the North Vietnamese, and parroted by Jane Fonda, as “humane and lenient.” Because of this frank and candid response, I spent three days on a rocky floor on my knees with outstretched arms with a large amount of steel placed on my hands, and beaten with a bamboo cane till my arms dipped. I had the opportunity to meet with Jane Fonda for a couple of hours after I was released. I asked her if she would be willing to debate me on TV. She did not answer me.

This does not exemplify someone who should be honored as part of “100 Years of Great Women.” Lest we forget... “100 years of great women” should never include a traitor whose hands are covered with the blood of so many patriots. There are few things I have strong visceral reactions to, but Hanoi Jane’s participation in blatant treason is one of them.

Please take the time to forward this information to as many people as you possibly can. It will eventually end up on her computer and she needs to know that we will never forget.

::::Looks like you posted a false story as fact. Like the guy says at the end, "she did enough wrong without making up stuff""""" I don't think the guy running and hiding after he did it makes for a very good representative of the vets. tlak

It would seem...
" WE ARE HONORING A TRAITOR? " IS NOTHING BUT A HOAX!

A shocking story about Jane Fonda and POW hit the Internet. This story was false although it contained many verifiable facts. The story has been repudiated by at least one of the POW named in the story. This story is now considered a hoax and has taken its place among other urban legends. You decide for yourself.

*********************************************

Propaganda Masterpiece : The trouble with the e-mail is that it is a blend of falsehood and truth, in essence, a masterpiece of gray propaganda. Based largely on well-known facts that made it believable and acceptable,
the story fits the public image that Jane Fonda has foolishly crafted for herself.

The first part of the phony story alleged that during Jane Fonda's real visit to North Vietnam in 1972 several American POW tried to pass their identity (social security numbers) to her on tiny slips of paper, but that Fonda passed the little notes to the POW's captors, who then proceeded to brutally beat
several of the POW. One of the prisoners supposedly beaten was Col. Larry Carrigan. One version of the story also mentions Col. Jerry Driscoll, USAF (Ret) in the beating scenes. Both Col. Carrigan and Col. Driscoll have denied this account through Captain McGrath and others.

The second part of the bogus Fonda story is an account from Michael Benge. Mr. Benge has confirmed this part of the e-mail as being correct. After being asked if he would like to meet with Jane Fonda, Benge told his captors he would tell Fonda "...about the real treatment we POWs were receiving, which was far different from the treatment purported by the North Vietnamese, and parroted by Jane Fonda, as 'humane and lenient.
'" Benge said that when the Vietnamese found out his intentions; "I spent three days on a rocky floor on my knees with outstretched arms with a piece of steel re-bar placed on my hands, and beaten with a bamboo cane every time my arms dipped."

"Liars and hypocrites" Despite the disinformation in the bogus story, the truth remains: the POW were beaten and tortured. But at a press conference Jane Fonda dismissed reports of POWs being tortured and beaten, saying the POW were "liars and hypocrites."

Who benefits from a bogus Jane Fonda story? Jane Fonda and her image rehabilitators, that's who. Just picture a hand-wringing, tear-drenched Oprah Winfrey television audience hanging on every word as a Fonda apologist says "See! I told you! They'll do anything to crucify Jane Fonda. They will even make up horrible lies about Jane Fonda just to drag her down."

As Captain Mike McGrath says; "We don't want to be party to false stories, which could be used as an excuse that her real actions didn't really happen either." (Ref.)

Captain McGrath is exactly right. Jane Fonda can be thoroughly repudiated on the basis of the facts alone, nobody needs to make up stories and muddy the waters.

I rest my case, the rest is for you to decide.
