I have a farmall 200 and would like to hear from any one with experience in using the three point adaptors. They appear to be simple but are they functional?

I have a '53 Super C with Fast Hitch to 3-point adapter. It consists of 2 prongs that insert into the Fast Hitch arms, and a bracket that bolts in place of the right angle PTO for a top link to attach. It works fine. The only drawback is implements have to be just the right width at the attaching pins to fit the prongs. But this is the setup that I plow with in the spring; and I've tried my 3ph finish mower and it works fine.

The link is to a picture from a Farmall brochure that shows the original factory 3ph adapter.

Good luck,
Bill

I have a worksaver 3pt conversion on a Farmall 200. Go to worksaver.com to see drawings of their equipment. Consists of two arms that plug into the two sockets on 2pt wishbone, and a toplink fitting that bolts on in place of the belt pulley - below the seat. Well made, and works OK. like the fellow below notes, attaching machinery is a bit more difficult than standard 3pt hitch. I also had to find a shorter top link to get appropriate geometry for my impliments. Also the width of the impliment between the 3pt hitch pins is critical, because there isn"t much adjustment on the inside (or outside) dimmensions, due to Farmall"s fixed width wishbone. You may have to look carefully for impliments, or shim the impliment"s 3pt pins to the proper width. If I remember correctly, the ideal width is 26" shoulder to shoulder on the pins. Since the Farmall I have isn"t equipped with a draft control, some operations like plowing on uneven terrain can be frustrating. I found that I had to run the lift on "float" and add guage wheel on plow to control the plow depth. I use mine on a disk, drag, back blade, scraper bucket, pto powered hay rake, pto powered sickle bar mower (with added bracket to activate chain lift - normally attached to tractor drawbar), and post hole digger (slight modification on boom to accomodate lifting height). But, in a nutshell, it works for me!

I think mine is easier than a traditional 3 point. I believe it was made by a company called speeedco It is a one piece adaptor that is set up like quick hitch for a normal 3 point. The only problem is any non standard width implements can not be used.

I have had three point adapters on my Fast Hitch IH 330 and IH 606 with no problems. I use my 606 with a three point 7 foot Brush Hog Squealer. The only disadvantage I have found is that hooking up the implement is a bit of a hassle due to the fixed nature of the adapters sliding into the Fast Hitch.

Any conversion kit is a poor substitute for a real 3 point hitch tractor. I made one for a C allis Chalmers, One for a CA and one for a Wd. I presently have a factory one on an M Farmall and have a kit for a Super C Farmall. The one for a super C just changes the implement from 3 point to a fast hitch implement. I used the Super C with a 3 point disc last night. The Super C does not have a good place for a top link.
