Mornin" Guys,

Swapped out these nipples which were on the row marker hydraulics of my old planter.

Not familiar with these guys; what do they fit? Are they a John Deere thing?

Thanks,

Allan

"New style Deere" as opposed to "old style", and NOT the current "Pioneer" couplers that Deere uses now. Make sense? (Didn't think so) John

Yes it makes perfect sense!!!!! !!!!!

About the time you get every thing on your place with the same fittings they change the fittings so you can do it all over again.

You're totally on the mark again, John.

Absolutely nothing about John Deere makes any sense to me anymore. :>)

Like dropping a tried and true cylinder-walker combine line in pursuit of the single tine separation system!
Deere's cocky, and they're thinking of moving some of their foundry work to China!
On a business scale, economically it makes sense. To us farmers, it doesn't do any justice at all...

They dropped the old combine design for the same reason they dropped the 2 cylinder tractor... It had reached the limits of it's abilities. To keep up with everyone else, they had to go a different direction.

Deere has been "global" long before any other manufacturers. That's why they survived, and all the others are now foreign owned shells of what once was. By staying a viable business, they are doing more to support farmers than companies that constantly change ownership. When I walk in to plunk down a quarter million on a new combine, I'd like to know the maker will be around long enough to see it through its years with me. Deere has long history of making good business moves. THAT is their responsibility to their share-holders, their customers, and to the general public, who buys the products PRODUCED by their equipment.

A good investment is more than the actual physical item... It's about the support of that item throughout it's lifespan. All the rest of the farm equipment industry is just one MORE merger from disappearing at any moment.

I'll stick with a PROVEN WINNER.....

Hi Dave,

You can take this one from me.

It isn't the colors that are breakin' his heart. It is the fact that he doesn't have the place anymore and he isn't out and "doin' it". :>)

Been there, done that. :>(

Allan, You are right! Those are Deere hydrolic ends. I can,t remember the tech name of them off had this AM. but fits the 10,20,30,40 series Deeres. Some where in the 50 series I think is when Deere changed to another style.
Later,
John A.
New a Deere they are worth about $7.00.

Aw Ha!

That must explain why the hydraulic oil still in the planter's orbital hydraulic system has a greenish tint to it too?

Is John Deere's hydraulic oil kind of a green color as well?

Thanks,

Allan
