Well, you hear about all the bad stuff that goes on with scams and deadbeat buyers and sellers that take forever to ship or worse ship junk that doesn't match up with the description of the items, etc.

Well I just bought an item on ebay that I thought I got a decent deal at $50. The listing had a shipping calculator that estimated shipping at $11 but the guy only charged me $8. Then I got the item in lightning fast time and he had written on the outside of the box. "Bonus! You get 2!" Sure enough inside was another item just like the one I'd purchased. Plus the postage showed to be $13.93 (probably ended up more because he shipped 2 items instead of just 1!).

Oh well, I just wanted to share that. It just goes to show that there are still generous people out there. Kind of gets you thinking about the movie pay it forward, now I need to do something nice for someone else!

I have sold and purchased quite a bit on e-bay....generally it is addicting. About 2 years ago I bought a Farmall M from a guy in Missouri, and I am in Ohio. Boy, did I learn a lesson. The guy was a crook. The tractor was only a shadow of what he described. Took 6 weeks to deliver. Next one I was smarter. I bought an H from a guy in Ohio and it was excellent!!!!

I have bought hundreds of items on Ebay. Only one never arrived, & I do think the seller mailed it. He had 100% positive feedback, & seemed honest, I think item was lost in the mail. One item took several weeks to get here, It was a watch fob. When it arrived, the envelope was charred, & the bubble wrap had melted around the fob. It was OK after I finally got the melted plastic off. It must have been in a mail truck that caught fire..... All in all, I have had great luck on Ebay purchases, although I would be hesitant to buy large-ticket items.....

Glad you made out good. i have made many good buys on E Bay. BUT beware of a guy that sells under the name of (yesterday-once-more ) This guy is out of Canada and he is a real JERK!! I bought a MM carb frome hin, he sai it was restorable??? the thing was all rusted out and all the insides were gone( he never said any thing about that) He will not answer my emails. SORRY for the long post. Just had to vent TR

Sounds like you did OK Nathan. Someytimes there are squirley buyers as well. Pay attention to the rules laid out by PayPal and you will generally do OK. DO NOT SHIP TO UNCONFIRMED ALTERNATE ADDRESS.

I've received everything I ordered. But a few of my last transactions have been a pain. I'm waiting on an overdue item right now. He claims to have shipped it on Tuesday. We'll see. It seems as EBay becomes more popular the more dirt-bags get into it.
I have a freind who got stuck on a $500 purchase. EBay and PayPal do nothing. Lucky for him he used a credit card. So he had them stop payment.
I've got some great deals but I think its going downhill.

Have had many happy results on E-bay. Can find things that are no where else. I all way E-mail when item sent or when item arrives. Just common courtesy Only bad/slow things were from "power sellers" who are just "middle men". Like a wire welder that his idot shipper tried to send parcel post That took 30 days.

I've only had one bad experience as a buyer, and that was because the seller didn't know how to package the item properly. The shipping insurance made everything ok, I didn't lose any money, but I had to start looking for that special snowglobe all over again.

You never know about fast shipping. I was waiting on money from Canada for 2 weeks and the post mark said He sent it the next day like He said he would. I ordered a part for my water heater and UPS took 3 weeks to get it here.
