I just put a new solenoid on it and it does the same thing,is the new solenoid bad? Thanks

On a 245 MF, It was a monthly thing to replace solenoid..... I finally took all the wires loose & sanded contact areas, & added another ground lug. I have not had any trouble since.....

if you replaced the solenoid and still have the same proble. it could be the switch is not providing enough voltage to the solenoid. make sure its getting the full 12v some will work down as low as 8v.

I had the same problem with a JD 2940 and discovered the soleniod plunger was gummy and sticky. After cleaning the gum out it has worked perfectly since. Good luck. deereford
