I have a friend that has a 95 chevy pickup and about 5 months ago he got a rebuilt 350 put in it, but he said that the starter is starting to drag now, but it didnt before he took it in to get the new engine. I was just wondering what yall might think some of causes might be. Any help would be appriciated

Sometimes you have to shim the starter any auto parts sells a pack of various thickness starter shims for a couple bucks.

I've always made it a practice when installing a new engine to replace all hoses, belts, the distributor/wires, the battery, the starter and the alternator. They get tired too.

I'm with you Allen I always fix all that stuff too. How do these guys expect to start a rebuilt engine with junk starter. That new engine will crank alot harder than an old worn out one with no compression.

Check the starter mounting bolts. They have a tendency to loosen on Chevys.
