Let's just say I'm leery of Harbor Freight. How about this one...? The sale flier I received Saturday lists a portable tire changer, regularly $70.00 now on sale for $35.00. Anyone have experience with this unit? Are they any better than a set of decent tire tools? It would be nice to have a machine for changing wagon tires, etc., but how useful is this thing? Thanks, Glenn F.

I've used mine for several years now. It's a well made robust unit that works quite well. It's the exact same one Grotts sells for several hundred dollars.

You get what you pay for. I'd recomend buying a good hand bead breaker and a couple of spoon irons and you can change any tire ever made for the rest of your life, then pass the tools on to your son.

I bought one 3-4 years ago. I bolted mine to the floor. It"s not suited to many, many tires. But for me to do an occasional tire or two it works just fine.

Yes I bought one last year for about 35 bucks (on sale) at H.F. and was glad I bought it. I changed about six 14 inch tires for our cars and about four 15 inch tires that are on some trailers we have.I bolted it on a 4'X4' 3/4 inch hunk of ply wood and when your standing on the ply wood it wont move that way you can store it away somewhere out of the way when your done with it..Good luck.
