Howdy,

Well, I am happy to report that I now have a set of rear rims for the JD M. Got "em from Wisconsin thanks to a wanted ad I placed in the photo ads here. So thanks for the help. Now comes the fun of getting tires. These rims aren"t the same size as the originals. The originals, I believe, were 10x24. I took out the tape measure and these measure 11 1/8" by 26 3/8" I"m guessing you"d just knock it down to 11x26. Probably something like that. Anyway, I talked to my local tire guy and he asked me to find out the tire size that it needed or something like that. It confused me. So, I decided to ask you folks if you could help me out in finding the tire size I need. I tried to e-mail miller tire but my mail isn"t functioning right. I appreciate the help. God bless.

Howdy,

Yeah, I goofed on this one. I had measured the outside of the rim to get the diameter so that was my boo boo. The rims are 24". On the width, since they are 11's, will the 11.2 tire work pretty good on them? I have the 11.2's on my farmall A but it's rims are 10x24 in size and these are 11x24. Just curious. If they'll work alright I'll give my tire guy a call tomorrow. Thanks again for the help. I'll try not to goof up next time ha ha. Been workin on getting a weather forecasting job up in Minnesota so my mind hasn't been on tractors much as of late. God bless.

Many times if the rims arent too rusted on the inside, you can find where the size has been stamped. What you describe sounds like a 10x24. I"m not familiar with a 26 inch tractor wheel size. They progress from 24 to 28 in.

I've got 14.9 X 26 tires on my McCormick -Deering O-6 orchard tractor. Miller tire lists a 13.6 X 26 , which would be just a little wide for your rim, but should be ok.

Whoops , I missed the 3/8 part the first read.I'm with the others, you're measuring to the edge of the rim , not inside the bead.

Get your tape measure out again. The width of the rim is the width at the bottom of the bead seat. The diameter of the tire is also at the bottom of the bead seat. Easiest measuring across the rim metal to metal, then add two metal thicknesses. In most cases both should be even inches in this size range.

You measured the outside of the rim and for a 10x24 could have measured 11-1/8 by 25-3/8".
