I am recently running a massey fergosun 850 combine. i bought a 30 foot staight cut header to put on our combine. some people said it couldn't be done but then we talked to some other people who said it would work. It ran great but had a little tippage. So we talked to a lokal massey dealer and they said they new a guy with similar problem. they basically said that the guy took off his massey 850 front tires and bought 4 massey 860 front tires and put them on his combine making it a dually combine. he said that the dualls being on the combine got rid of any tippage. I would like to spend some money on buying 4 860 front tires, a airfoil chaffer, and a unloading augar extention, and bumpping up the horse power on the engine. But I would just like to know can i make my massey 850 a dually. thanks.

Don't know specifically about the Massey, but they run duals all the time on combines around here. Can be kind of hard on axlws though. Years ago I ghot to help replace an axle on a n IH cobine. Guy had duals, the outer one running on the corn row, and the inside tire was flat. Couldn't take the strain.

I don't really see a problem years ago guys used to put clamp on duals on 410s&510s and they never had any problems ,you could put skinney tires on for dauls to lessen the load on drives if weight is a worry

I grew up around these machines--- our 850 had the same size tires as our 860 did but if you mean 30.5x32's I dont think I would dual those.

there is a huge amount of torque put on the final drives when you do that.. we had only minor problems with the final drives but never dualled one. our 760 and our 850 both blew out final drives and if memory serves me right they are the basically the same.

I am not saying you cant do it. oh and I know a former massey service teck that won a bet putting 2- 20ft swaths of wheat at the same time threw a 410 so I know an 850 will take it
