About the same to slightly lower quality than Harbor Freight.

Looks like you got your answer. Well over half of responses say the stuff is junk.

Limited experience. Bought a 14" metal chop saw that worked fine until it was stolen. Bought some vise-grip type (but not name) welding clamps. Those also work fine.

I have one of their floor model drill presses. Bigger than the one you are talking about. The fit on the chuck taper [M-2} is so bad I have tried shimming it with everything from brass bearing shim stock to newspaper and it has never been right. Check that before you fire up your check book.

Your mileage may vary

i have had ntohign but bad luck with the traveling clowns. again freight if you ever have any problems or trouble will kill you. locally star line a very very cheap and knowledgeable local that does any electric work anything at all from starters off a toyota to a starter off a dresser loader and rebuilds computers circuits anything electrical this guy is a real gooru and works very cheap 30 bucks usually labor for a total teardown of a starter or altenator and rebuild. he even bumps altenators. like for my 6.5 diesel the chinsy 80 really wouldnt cut it with the plow on etc and he bumped it to 160 amp and replaced brushes and bearings regulator while he was in there for 110 bucks you cant even go to the parts store and get a rebuilt 80 amp for under 150 but anyways going off on a tangent had a cummins drill press once and motor burnt out took it to him and he said it was the biggest piece of junk he had ever seen poor quality poorly made cheap. wnded up putting different pullies, motor etc on it now aint too bad. as much as i hate sears i would go somewhere that you can take it back yourself. some of those traveling shows have real good deals especially for the homeowner but some are real flyby nights

I bought thier bench type 3/4 hp drill press for about 50 bucks. it doesn't complety stink... don't get any ideas of drilling 1/2 inch holes in 1/2 inch flat stock- not gonna happen. drilling some light angle it's ok.

Tweeter: Most of what Cummins sells is the same stuff that Harbor Freight, Northern Tool, Enco, Grizzly, Homier, etc. sells--namely inexpensive China-made tools. If you can live with that, then their tools are no better or worse than the rest of the above vendors. I've purchased many things from their travelling shows (which show up in our area a couple of times a year) and have always had good service and no hassles on the times I've had to return a broken tool. I'm not saying that everyone will have the same luck, but I've found the Cummins reps to be much more knowledgeable (and honest for that matter) than most.

My Cummins purchases:
Air commpressor...stll working fine 4years later
3/4"drive socket set...sockets break with arm strength only
screw drivers...turned out to be chrome plated brass.
Porter Cable air stapler...good
aluminum carpenters squares... had to use a milling machine to mill them...square!
Floor jack...good
Reman. power washer...good

So it's a crap shoot. Be picky, buy name brands when you can. You still get what you pay for.
