Well, I guess it's time my rock goes in the shop because the pressure plate has gone bad. Looking for advice weither I should replace the clutch disk and throw out bearing as well or leave those alone as I haven't had any trouble from those as of yet, no slipping. I have no clue how many miles are on that clutch, truck only has 75,000 miles and the guy I bought it from had totally babied it and had never hauled anything or ever left the pavement with it, so I'm thinking it's probably the original. What do you think?.

Also make sure you inspect the clutch fork and ball pivot for excessive wear and replace if worn

You may as well spend the few xtra bucks and have the `fly wheel turned also and make sure they put a shim behind it the same thickness as what they shaved off of it. This make a lot of differance on how long you new one lasts. bacause if the clutch went at 75000 he rode the heck out of it and the flywheel is scorched,I usually get 150+ out of one and I load the heck out of my trucks.

And don't forget the pilot bearing, if it's bad, it will make you think your pressure plate is bad.

If you even suspect that it is all original it makes no sense not to replace it while it"s apart.

the cost of the parts can"t be all that much...
if I remember my last clutch replacement, the pressure plate was the expensive part.

just my 2 cents

Thats probably a good idea. I was just wondering if it was common practice to replace everything while part of it was seen to, even though everything else seems ok. But I guess clutches usually go pretty fast once they start.
Thanks

You can buy NEW clutch kits, with the 2 bearings, pressure plate and lined plate all included so reasonably it makes NO sense not to replace everything, while you're in there.
