Went to auction at Charlotte, NC. I thought group might be interested in results. Fewer gray market Japanese tractors today. The word I got was that some of the importers wanted too much for them. I looked up some listings of models of Yanmar and Mitisubishi tractors and it appears many of them for sale were made in the 1980"s. At that auction many other tractors (Ford and John Deere, mostly} are brought over from England by one importer. He said the decline of the dollar made used tractors in England too high for him to make any money, but the drop in the dollar value meant he could buy things here and send them overseas. Results: Two wheel drive Japanese tractors bring about $2000 and 4 wheel drive bring about $1000 more. One Bolens Iseiki 4 wd brought $2800.
Others: Ford 2000 4 cyl low clearence $2400. Farmall Super A $1700. Not started, good metal. 8N Ford, $1575, Fair metal. Ford 4600 $5100. New paint, good tires. MF135 $3100. Gas, new paint. Ford 9N $1350. Good cond. Ford 5610 $6200. This tractor had new paint, wrong decal. It was a 4610 and the auction moved it and resold it with warning for $6100. AC D15 $2200. Nice original condition,but not mint condition. MF 235 $4350. MF 135 diesel $3250 John Deere 820 $3500. Average cond. John Deere A $1750. Two lever transmission. John Deere 1020 $3350. Gas. MF 20F w/loader $10750 Ford Dexta $1600. Average. John Deere 2020 $5050. Case IH 684 $10250. Oliver 60 $700. Not running,pump on PTO to run Home made 3ph. NH TN65 w/loader $10300.

I didn"t examine any of these with the intention of buying so I"m not sure of any problems. Hope this is of interest.
