Was wondering if anyone has any info on a 801 Select-o-speed. Was thinking about selling mine but have no idea what it is worth. It is an 801-871-169241. Any comments would be appreciated. It runs good and the paint is in fairly good condition.

The SoS typically makes it worth what an equal-shape 861 would be worth. Occationally you can find a sucker I mean person that will offer full price for it, but you will need to wait longer.

As always, the SoS isn't really bad, it is just more difficult & more money to maintain & parts are getting hard to come by. Decreases value of the machine.

What part of "ask what you gave" do you do not understand. Tractors seldom loose value. Unless you gave way to much or have abused it.

It was inherited so I really don't want to give it away. Its a wide front, runs excellant, and tires are excellant shape. Overall appearance is great. So does anybody have a approximate value?

Depending on your location you may expect a range of 3500 to 4500 if it is in reasonable shape and the trans functions well. It is very difficult to find anyone who will repair these transmissions.

It is hard to get more than $2500 for an SoS around my part of the world. I understand they are worth more in other parts of the country. All I can say is what I know around 'here'. :)

If you have mantained it well, not did any damage, made some improvements, then ask what you gave for it. Set a liberial deadline to take offers and sell to the high offer if you are happy with it. There are too many tractor seekers to give away at a cheap price. Advertise on the photo ads of this web site. There are people in your area who will see it. Be patient!
