Just getting an idea of current costs for the 05 crop season!

Thinking of renting additional grain storage with a drying unit. Also possibly a long distance hauling. In other words hiring an individual, or company to haul 75+ miles.

Total grain output... about 250 acres corn, & 210 soybeans.

Scotty.

I pay 5 cents a bushel to get my corn hauled 10 miles. I also work for an elevator, we have a program for farms to hire trucking for grain to be hauled to our elevators. It is cheaper than the farmer can hire the trucker for himself because we keep the truck running for the whole season rather than just calling to get a load or binful hauled when you are ready. I have no idea what a 75 mile haul would cost, but we have a terminal to terminal haul of 60 miles that is 25 cents a bushel.
