She's run great the 2 years I've had her, including when I parked her 2 months ago. Now it cranks, but won't start. Bled the fuel system multiple times and made sure air intake not clogged. What else can I do before calling in professional help?

Thanks for the ideas,
Fuel system bleeds normally all the way through both filters, pump and the injectors. I can"t say there"s no air in there, but fuel does squirt out the loosened injector lines when I bump the starter. No smoke while cranking.
Air system not visibly blocked, but will get some ether and try that.
Cold start aid is another nightmare. Tractor always started by turning key past heat to hot start, never worked by turning to start. Never worried about it cause it alweays started. Pulled the ign switch out, put the meter on each post and found which is for start and which is heat. Moved tyhe wire that was on heat to start post and now cranks when ket turned to start. Found another disconnected wire under dash that I think would be for the heat start, but I lose it in a bundle of electric taped wire bundle. There is no wire at the cold start aid on the manifold, just a fuel line. I think my "extra" wire is actually going to the starter solenoid! I thought the solenoid should just have the positive battery cable going to the fat post. What else would this 10g wire be on the fat post. Both small posts are wired correctly. Thanks again for your time,
Matt

Hello Matt,
If your getting diesel to come out of the lines that hook up to the injectors and it still won't start. Make sure that the air intake isn't blocked. It's not common practice, and I wouldn't do it regularly. But back when I worked in the garages, we used to take a gasoline soaked rag and hold it in front of the air intake (as in front of the air cleaner). Make sure your battery is good to turn it over. I've never seen one that wouldn't start. Just an idea for what it's worth.

later days mate,
Jim

Apart from suggestions from Steve:
Is it injecting? Are you bleeding right through to the injectors?
Does it smoke at all while cranking?
Is the starting pre-heat system working?
Try tow starting it?
Warm the engine thoroughly - get it hot if possible. If it was drained, fill twice with hot water - equivalent to a warm start.
Will it fire at all with a sniff of easy-start(without any preheat system in operation)?
Is it cranking fast enough - batteries, cables etc?
You could try feeding inlet manifold with a gas burner to raise inlet gas temp.
I think you are prolly not getting all the air out of the sytem properly. Are you following the instruction manual precicely?
Hope this helps, RAB

Just a thought: Check that the shutoff cable to the injection pump isn't stuck somehow and holding the pump in the off position. Also, use about half throttle while cranking. Another thought: If you live where it's real cold, the fuel may have jelled. If you can warm up the engine with a space heater it may also help you.
Good Luck,
Steve
