I have a couple of questions first is I have a 1945 JD H. It was inherited to me from a friend of a family. The tractor has a light switch, lights and bracket, and generator bracket. But it does not have electric start. It this original? Also that are the 2 holes on each side of the hood for? I was told that it is for a curtain but I have shutters. I also have wheel weights of this tractor. My friend said they never came with wheel weights does any one know other wise? Thanks Adam

The lights were needed for working at night but you could work at anytime by hand cranking and did not need a starter and was cheaper that way. Thru Two Cylinder Club you can find out exactly how it was shipped and build date and ship location if you have serial no.

I think by the way I interpet the parts book those tractors could have lights and no starter and maybe even a starter and no lights. All I have seen had all the optional equipment or none. 2 holes on the left grille are for a curtain I don't think the right side had these holes I could be wrong I'd have to go look at mine.Wheel weights front and rear were an option also fenders.Your tractor sounds original to me.I love those little H's I think you will too.Just keep in mind they aren't much horsepower or weight if you need a bigger tractor to use get a B or 50.
