Its an auto-lite 4072 starter has a 2 bolt flange on it and what I would call an open end. Thanks

It also fits the 101/102 Massey Harris series of tractors plus the Case model V (not the VA's).

If it is a MZ4072 my book says it will fit a 1952-57 Cockshutt 20 or 1947-56 Massey 20,20K,21 Colt,22K and 23K. No guarantees.

Just out of curiosity, what book is that you are referring to?

I have a Wilson and Neihoff catalog but only go back to 1947 or so. You have better books than I.

I have two mystery parts here.

1. Delco-Remy Generator - #1101859 6A 9
2. Delco-Remy Starter - #1107178 4D 10

Thanks for your help.

1101859 6 Volt Delco Gen. fits J-D 320,330,40,420,430,440,M69 and M70.
1107178 6 volt Delco starter used 1959-64 on M-F # 35 SP combine, 34 swather and 44 windrower. I think these were powered by 4 cyl. Continentals but I don't know which one. The MF tractors were 12 volt by about 1956 for the TO's and about 1951 for the TE's. Wilson Auto Elec. in 1965 was based in Winnepeg, Manitoba. Hope this helps. Usual disclaimers apply.

Never heard of that book but it sounds interesting. Actually, I just happened to know the two applications I mentioned because I have a 101 MH Junior and a Case V and they both use that starter. I don't have an application book like that, I must check around for one. I have a starter here that is also a "mystery" to me for application, I will hunt down the make/model and post it here, maybe you can see what your book says. I will get back to you later today on this forum site.
