I have a 300 faemall and about 3 weeks ago it shorted out and started on it's own and was in gear and knocked the barn off its foundation.I took the starter off and had it checked out and they told me the starter was OK.I put a new switch and new wiring on the tractor and when you try to start it the starter just keeps turning on it's own and will only stop when you peck it with a hammer--what do you think--need advice-

Doesn"t that model use a solenoid for starting? It sounds to me as if that"s where the problem is.

Rusty, A burnt up or weak spring in the solenoid could cause it to turn over, but seems to me the key would have to be on to start. Maybe a dual problem or smell a troll.
