Uh-oh! Going to need the chains.

The Massey Ferguson 35 could barely get itself around on the ice this afternoon. I'm going to have to put chains on it before I do any serious snow blowing, and herein lies my question.

My dad left two sets of chains: an almost new pair for his prized Ferguson TEA20 (11.4 X 28's)
and another for the previous International 414 with standard tires. Anybody know that size?

Will either set fit my 35's 12.4 X 28's?

Thanks,

Rod

Chains are the way to go unless you have a concrete drive and don't want it marked up. I bet those chains you have are a close fit ,but if not some repair links should get you longer and wider if needed. No sense in buying more if you have 2 sets laying around.

Turns out one set was for the Jeep. The other needed extensions of about 8" to go from 11.4 to 12.4 wheels.

They work great after $16.00 in parts and a forenoon's work, though.

In regard to the ice. I have a pull behind plastic trailer that I use for salting, I put about 150lbs of salt in it and use a shovel and throw it down on the driveway. I can plow snow but that Ice will mess ya up.
