Just checking to see if anyone is from this area and if there are any museums or shows up that way in January. I know its a long shot (considering its wintertime) but we're heading up there the weekend of the 14th-16th for a Boy Scout trip and I was hoping to see some old iron or maybe visit someone from this board. We have some red stuff and some orange stuff and also an old Ford diesel. The Boy Scout troop will be doing some skiing in the Maggie Valley area somewhere.

Kevin, Mountain Antique Museum in Hendersonville located Hwy 25. If the gate is open someone is there. Everything from early JDs to blacksmith made mowers, tools, etc. and one of the few remaining Allis A's. Let me know if you want telephone #.

Don't know how interesting it would be to the Scouts and it's (maybe) not what you're looking for, but..... ..... ....the Biltmore Estate is just outside of town; largest private dwelling ever in the USA; found it very enjoyable to see how the "other half" used to live..... .....it was a working farm at one time and now has a working vineyard.

Thanks Thurlow--my wife might be interested in that more than old tractors. The scouts will be snow skiing--I think I'll stay on the pavement or dry ground.....

No Tractor shows in the area that I know of this time of year. They have a great one in Oct. I am told there is a great Motorcycle Museum in Maggie Valley. A friend goes there often, says it is well worth seeing. Hope you & Scout troop have a safe & pleasant trip. Regards, Davis

Dennis,

That's a generous offer, but the scouts have a room at a lodge near Maggie Valley?? I think its called Creekside. We're staying in Asheville. I'm hoping to get around the area on Saturday. Maybe we can meet up on this trip or another one.

Thanks again,

Kevin
