641 Workmaster Oil coming out of oil pipe

I tried to plow my driveway after a 19 inch snow fall and my Ford 641 Workmaster with a recently overhauled engine is now blowing oil out the "oil intake" pipe. It appears to be a mixture of oil and gasoline. Any idea what caused this and how do I go about fixing it?

Thanks for any help.
Don

I would guess that your carb float has stuck open and you have a bunch of raw gas in your engine oil. Not good, but hopefully it has caused little damage if you haven't run it too long. It is time to change the oil and start closing the fuel valve when the tractor is sitting unused.

It is not too unusual for the Fords to do this, with the tank above the engine. At worst, a whole tank of gas will drain into the engine and the oil/gas mixture will be running out of the dipstick hole onto the floor. I suppose it would be possible for the engine to become hydraulically locked if ring seal was that good and the flow was fast enough.

In my personal experience, the flow is quite slow, but if the tractor is not used for some time, a lot of gas can accumulate in the crankcase. Ford put the fuel tank valve there for a reason.....I learned to use mine the same way you are. Good luck!

Thanks for your reply. And you are right. I did leave the fuel shut off switch in the open position. I didn"t run it very long, hope I have done little damage. I"ll drain the oil pan and change oil and see what happens. I was concerned that I had jammed snow and ice up the exhaust pipe and caused a valve seat to blow. Is that possible?

I don't believe that is possible, have heard of stoping runaway engines by pluging the exaust, that provides backpressure so the engine cannot suck anymore air and fuel in
