What make and model of tractor would be best for putting a front mounted 8' snowblower on?

If you have the hydraulic pump capacity, there are front mounted snow blowers that are hydraulicaly powered so you don't need a PTO connection.

The New Holland "Bi Directional" Tractor at about 100 HP is a great machine with full live PTO at both ends. It can have a loader with a bucket , pusher, or blade on one end and a large ( 8 foot ) snowblower on the other end. With the swivel controls you face the end you are using.

The little compacts with front pto & front wheel drive work well for front blowers.

Never have liked the extra cost & maintenence & mounting difficulties of the driveline & the loss of traction & control you get with a big unit.

The JD at least have the mid-pto. But no front wheel drive on them.

Not sure if there is a good ~80 hp tractor with mid pto & front wheel drive.

Look at some of the euro tractors, Landini or one of them has a reverse drive cab so you can swing the seat like a backhoe and the powershift and little steering wheel come around too.

This is to save buying an expensive 3 point front hitch for mowing. This is used alot in our area to mount forestry equipment on the 3-point and drive it backwards.
