Hey Rusty, Get your heater going yet.
K-1 kersene is $2.79 per gallon here in Spfd. I think I'm going to put up a 40,000 BTU overhead heater since I'm on natural gas and I wont have to smell that odor, All my shop consistes of is a three car garage now thats attached to the house. I've been heating it with a wick type kersene heater for the last couple years and it does good but I'm getting tierd of hauling fuel and the expense of K-1.

I don't know who this rustyj14 is but he ain't rustyfarmall. Walter, to answer your question, no, I have the part ordered, it may be in the mailbox now, I haven't had a chance to get out there and see. I do not use kerosene in mine, I use #1 diesel. Yes, it smells a bit, nut not nearly as bad as some of the older heaters used to. This heater was supposed to be a temporary deal, We installed a new propane furnace in the house, and since the old furnace was still basically good, it got moved to the shop, along with the central air unit. One of these days, when I get the shop all sealed up tight and insulated, I will have central heat and air conditioning.

Well, i went down there yesterday, plugged in the heater, and it ran for 2 minutes and shut off! Went down there today, plugged it in, and it ran until it got too hot in there and i had to shut it off! Shop cooled down, plugged it back in, it ran for a minute, and,--yeah, it shut off! GGRRR!! Changed the fuel line position, tried it--it ran until i shut it off! That was this morning--i'm going to try it again this afternoon. I use Kerosene because it doesn't stink up the house very much. Diesel fuel is cheaper, but i think it stinks much more than kero. Kero here is $2.01/ Gal. last time i bought it. My box heater keeps things warm after the torpedo is used to warm the shop at first. by: RJ

Rusty, Check your photo eye make sure it is in right postition and not dirty, you can check these with a ohm meter and a flashlight,
Darn things can be more aggrervating than a 8N ford in a rain storm.
