I want to thank all those who responded with solutions, and let me tell you, I am going to try all of them....I took the tank off once on another 9N and it is no picnic...one more think the products given me were without address like particular company names..I will try to find them on the web..first I try home solutions then the acid and water..I have more sludge soft then anything else..then I will use a coating that is listed...again thanks I am making a homemade swisher to swab the tank...more later when I begin...thanks again...

Try all of them? You only have the one tank - how many times do you want to clean it?

After reading all the posts on cleaning gas tanks I treated my F-30 to 3 bottles of "The Works" toilet cleaner. I did take the tank off and added water with it. Let it sit for 4 hours then sloshed it around real good. After rinsing well with water I have a shiny tank inside. Thanks for the excellent advice!

let me bring u uptodate, I put 32 oz of Hercules boiler and heating system cleaner, 32 is good for 20 gals..removes rust and scale etc, it sat for two days, I drained it today and after flushing put in 3 gals of vinegar, the works was not available here..I have two 9N"s Rab, only one is giving me the problem and the need is urgent...one cleans for horses and snow, leaves, the other has post hole digger attached that is the problem..as fences have to be reset...the bolts are buried for the hood which is attached to the tank...more later...but all my flushes run clean for the moment....
