was helping B.I.Law haul in and sheared something off above the gearbox on a Bradford 542?? The bolt that comes thru the auger shaft looks to be 5/8" or 3/4" and the input shaft is only @1" in dia. gearbox does turn the output shaft that goes thru into the auger so hoping didn't hurt nothin in there. anybody had one of these apart, I cant tell a thing with corn raining out on my head when you open the trap. thanks in advance. fred

Thanks for the update, I had nothing to add but was interested in the outcome. As good as can be hoped for! :)

hi, allan i think that's what i did but i can't find where it is. the pto feeds a small gearbox that is a 90 degree design, has splined shaft into auger, auger shaft looks like 2+" dia, input shaft end that i can see is prob 1"...can't find where a shear bolt would reside. also cannot make out where the transition into the auger is made. guess i'll have to figger out how to get it onto the 8' wide scale at the elevator in am so I can see what went on. looks like there's supposed to be a break-away clutch of some sort B4 the gearbox but it is froze up. ANY input welcome, thanks. fred

Been there done that we put small auger under it and put grain in wagon, easier than dragging to town, and besides any more with a full grain cart on road they will give you a over load ticket here you are only allowed 20,000 lbs per axle on any wagon.

Fred,

Sounds to me like you just sheared the drive pin.
