My 52 8n has not been used for six months. Yesterday when it started there was no oil pressure. The last time it was used it had 40 lbs oil pressure. Any one have any ideas on what to do?

on some rebuilds i put a little air pressure in the crankcase while cranking with the coil wire off to get it primed..i remember how hard it used to be to get oil pressure up on the old chevy vega after an overhaul and the air trick allways worked... lucas

You probably need to reprime your oil pump. On the front of the motor above the water pump to the right there a 13/16 plug (I think it's 13/16). Remove it, pull out the spring and relief valve, fill with oil, and reassemble. That should bring the pressure back.

was it below freezing? a chance you could have had frozen water in the pump and twisted the shaft off?

Another option was the oil was below it"s "pour point" temperature and would not flow.
